SCENE 1 - OUVERTURE
The story begins with a mistake in the title: Schiaccianoci loses the letter “I” and becomes Schaccianoci, adding confusion to the sense of the entire sugary Christmas story.
SCENE 2 - AN UNCOMMON KINGDOM
The scene changes into a papier-mâché Kingdom where a King and Queen made of flimsy paper are obsessed by mice and promise a handsome reward to who will dispose of this horde of voracious parasites.
SCENE 3 - THE TWO CHARLATANS AND COUNSELLORSThe two Court’s Charlatans Drossel and Meyer are dogmatic but right: the real mice are the greedy and clinging courtiers.
SCENE 4 - THE COURT’S LIFE
At the Palace the court’s life continues in a series of useless distractions.
SCENE 5 - PIRLIPATThe heir Princess Pirlipat is born: she is very ugly, a little bit like the scrawl of the wrong title of the story. The King orders a big celebration in her honour.
SCENE 6 - MAUSERLINK
But the underworld is in turmoil: The Queen of Mice Mauserlink, comes out to celebrate the heir. The Queen Papier has promised her as many sausages and lard as she likes, provided that she doesn’t ruin the party.
SCENE 7 - THE MATTER BECOMES SERIOUS The stingy King doesn’t want to give all sorts of good things to the populace and starts a war against the horde of rodents
SCENE 8 - THE BATTLE Great battle: Mauserlink loses seven mice and swears vengeance.
SCENE 9 - TAKING CORRECTIVE ACTIONS The King is worried: he surrounds the cradle of the little monster with big traps and calls four armies of ravening cats.
SCENE 10 - REVENGEThere is nothing to do about it: during the night all kinds of mice enter in the Palace and Mauserlink bites Pirlipat, who turns into an ugly and voracious mouse.
SCENE 11 - PIRLIPAT
Pirlipat starts to eat: not just titbits, but also pieces of scenery, dialogues so that the whole story runs the risk of being eaten up!
SCENE 12 - THE CHARLATANS AGAIN Drossel and Meyer will find a remedy for all these adversities: in Anihccam, a fantastic place where every discourse can be destroyed and rebuilt, they will read a new story that will find the lost I and give a new role to Pirlipat.
SCENE 13 - THE MOON AND PIERROT
What about a round and soft story? The Moon and some little Pinocchios of Depero appear.
SCENE 14 - MANAGER
or is it maybe better to read a sharp and aggressive story like the one about the unscrupulous and braggart Managers of Parade by Picasso?
SCENE 15 - ELETTRAAnd what if we wanted to reach perfection? The sad and impossible story of the princess Elettra, who can’t touch anyone because of her shock-giving hands
SCENE 16 - THE ENDAt the end the letter “I” will appear again, among the narrative mechanism of Anihccam, bringing us back to the classic Nutcracker who nobody wants anymore…so everything starts again because the advantage of a story is that it can be reinvented every time…a million of different stories…and much more
